Mix & Math provides support and educational resources for 4th and 5th grade math teachers and their students. I had the pleasure of being their first staff graphic designer, redesigning their assets and resources to be consistent across all channels of communication.
Teacher Resources
More than 100k teachers have discovered how Mix & Math can make math less intimidating and more fun! So the design absolutely had to create that impression at first glance. Working together with the CEO to bring her vision to reality, I carefully crafted the graphic design to be welcoming, easy to navigate, and evoke the fun side of math.
Student Resources
Designing for students requires creative choices that facilitate learning and support critical math connections. Using hierarchy, typography, and simple, systematically placed elements, I designed digital and printable resources to be engaging and support comprehension.
Branding
Mix & Math wanted their logo to stand apart while being playful, inviting, and mathy. I created a graphic representation of the letter m using geometric shapes commonly found in math manipulatives. And incorporated sans-serif font set entirely in lowercase for an approachable, clean wordmark.
Brand Guide
After working closely with Mix & Math’s CEO to establish their visual identity, I created a brand guide for freelancers and new designers to maintain a consistent visual message.
